IDEX KIT

This kit allows you to swap the stock Ratrig chinese Z0 XY rails with Z1 preloaded rails for an IDEX VCore 4.0/4.1

Context:

Linear guide preload eliminates the clearance between the carriage and the rail Manufacturers achieve this by using specific sized ball bearings.

By eliminating the clearance, it increases rigidity and reduces deflection when external loads are applied. In a 3D printer, rails preload is a key factor to increase precision and improve the input shaper specs since no preload are cheaper, but get some play, more sensible to vibration across our high accelearions values..

The ball bearings used to achieve preload are slightly larger than the distance between the raceways of the linear guide and the rail. Common preload amounts are between 2 and 8 percent.

Most commonly used rail are Z0 (No specific preload)

Each kit suits only the 2x Y rails and the X rail, Z rails are mandatory to be use with a preload since they don't benefits from it relatively to their orientation and usage.

Choosing the right pack:

1- Choose the machine size

2- Choose the set: If you just want a quality rail swap without having to changes anything, pick the 2x MGN12C (Y) + 1x MGN12C +2 carriages (X) option. If you prefer a ligher X set pick the MGN9H set: Some modification on few parts may be necessary, essentially on the toolhead section or the gantry crosstube.
