1080p · HDR · Gaming Mode
The Optoma GT2000HDR is the middle tier of the Optoma compact short-throw lineup — native 1080p Full HD, HDR10 and HLG support, a dedicated gaming mode rated at 8.6 ms input lag, and 4K input compatibility on a 30,000-hour DuraCore laser engine. The same IP6X-sealed optical block, 24/7 operation rating, and short-throw form factor as the rest of the family, with the resolution and HDR most sim builds actually want.

Why The GT2000HDR
The GT2000HDR is the step up from the WXGA ZW350ST — native 1080p Full HD on the same DuraCore laser, IP6X engine, and 24/7 frame, with HDR10, HLG, a gaming mode at 8.6 ms input lag, and 4K input compatibility. The right pick for most 1080p sim builds.
1920 × 1080 single-chip DLP. Native 16:9 with selectable 16:10 and 4:3. Course visuals, ball flight overlays, and GSPro UI render at native pixel for pixel resolution — no scaling artifacts.
Accepts HDR10 and HLG signals over both HDMI 2.0 inputs. Course environments with bright sky and shadowed fairway hold detail in both highlights and shadows — not crushed like SDR.
Dedicated gaming mode rated at 8.6 ms input lag. Ball-strike to screen update feels immediate. Better feedback for putting drills, swing repetition, and competitive play.
Same DuraCore laser light source rated up to 30,000 hours as the ZW350ST and GT2400HDR. No lamp replacements ever. Consistent brightness across the full rated life.
Accepts 4K UHD signals over HDMI 2.0 and downscales to native 1080p. Pair with a 4K-output PC and use the projector for sim today, future-proof for a 4K-native upgrade later.
Fixed short-throw lens projects a 100″ image from roughly 4 ft and up to 300″ at the far end. Mount close to the screen to clear the swing line and reduce shadow risk.
The optical engine is IP6X dust-rated. The laser block is sealed against airborne particles so dust cannot degrade brightness or color over the 30,000-hour life — critical in garages and basements.
Rated for continuous 24/7 use. A fit for residential sim bays, demo loops, training rooms, and small commercial spaces that need full-day uptime in a compact chassis.
Short Throw & Setup
The 0.496:1 fixed short-throw lens projects a 100″ image from around 4 ft and a 300″ image from roughly 10.8 ft. Native 116% offset means the image projects above the lens centerline — matches a ceiling-mount install behind the player.
Fixed-lens short-throw projectors are unforgiving on alignment. Confirm geometry and clearance before drilling.
What Is The GT2000HDR
The GT2000HDR is the 1080p middle tier of Optoma’s compact short-throw lineup — same DuraCore laser engine, IP6X dust seal, 24/7 operation rating, and short-throw form factor as the ZW350ST and GT2400HDR, with a native 1080p Full HD panel, HDR10 plus HLG support, a dedicated gaming mode rated at 8.6 ms input lag, and 4K input compatibility. It uses a single-chip DLP engine with a 1920 × 1080 panel, a sealed DuraCore laser light source rated up to 30,000 hours, and a fixed 0.496:1 short-throw lens.
Placement range: the GT2000HDR supports a projection distance of 11.81 in to 129.92 in (~1 ft to 10.8 ft) and a screen size range of 30″ to 300″ diagonal. For the exact lens-to-screen distance based on your screen size and aspect ratio, run the numbers in the ESG projector fitment tool and throw calculator before mounting.
Mount notes: the GT2000HDR weighs 6.61 lbs and supports 360° operation. The chassis measures 10.79″ × 8.5″ × 4.49″ — up to 34% smaller than previous Optoma models. Native offset is 116%. The projector has no optical lens shift; image alignment uses ±15° keystone in both axes plus geometric correction.
HDR and gaming mode: the GT2000HDR accepts HDR10 and HLG sources over both HDMI 2.0 inputs. Course environments with mixed lighting hold both highlight and shadow detail rather than crushing one or the other. The dedicated gaming mode is rated at 8.6 ms input lag — tight enough that putting drills, swing repetition, and competitive play feel immediate.
Simulator software: the GT2000HDR works with major sim platforms including GSPro, E6 Connect, TGC 2019, Awesome Golf, and Foresight FSX over either HDMI 2.0 input. It accepts 4K UHD signals and downscales to native 1080p, so a 4K-output sim PC drives it without issue today and remains compatible if the PC outpaces the projector.
Everything It Does
Native 1080p Full HD 1920 × 1080 single-chip DLP. Native 16:9 aspect with 4:3 and 16:10 selectable. HDR10 plus HLG support across both HDMI 2.0 inputs.
0.496:1 fixed short throw, no optical zoom. Projection distance 11.81 in to 129.92 in. Screen size 30″ to 300″. Native offset 116%.
3,500 ANSI lumens with a 300,000:1 native (2,000,000:1 dynamic) contrast ratio. DuraCore laser holds brightness across the full 30,000-hour rated life.
Dedicated gaming mode rated at 8.6 ms input lag. Immediate response for putting drills, repetition work, and competitive play. Works with all sim platforms.
Accepts HDR10 and HLG sources. Higher dynamic range on course visuals — bright sky and shadowed fairway hold detail in both highlights and shadows.
Accepts 4K UHD input signals and downscales to native 1080p. Drop in alongside a 4K-output sim PC today, with a 4K-native upgrade path later.
Fully dust-sealed laser optical engine prevents particle ingress — critical in golf bays where impact screens, hitting mats, and turf shed dust into the air.
Built-in 15W speaker. 27 dB minimum / 34 dB maximum operating noise. Rated for 24/7 continuous operation. 360° operation orientation.
