This incredible ring was made around c.1915, a divine late Edwardian ring. Set to centre with a cushion shaped old-mine diamond in a platinum rub-over setting, surrounded by an intricate framework of delicate open-work. Directly above and below are two further old mine-cut diamonds, providing the ring with an elongated panel outline which has such a flattering effect when worn. The three central diamonds are semi-surrounded by natural rubies, calibre-cut and perfectly matched in colour with a bright crimson hue.
The rubies are surrounded by a gold rub-over setting with fine millegrain edging. The rubies are carefully arranged into an almost spider-web-like design which arches and curves to a point at each end of the ring.
Surrounded by round old-cut diamonds with the most incredible antique twinkle, each slightly different and full of its own charm and character. The diamonds are grain-set in platinum and surrounded by a polished border. The gallery is exquisite and features openwork with refined chenier detailing in 18ct yellow gold. As typical of antique craftsmanship, the profile of the ring is low on the finger making it extremely comfortable and practical to wear.
The shoulders are slightly open and further set with three rose-cut diamonds each. The rose-cuts offer a subtle and softer sparkle which really make the ring feel complete. The shoulders end at a ridge and give way to a solid 18ct yellow gold D-shape shank.
Excellent: all stones are secure and well set, with no damage to the mount. Professionally polished and carefully inspected by our workshop, ready to wear and enjoy.
Unless stated otherwise, gem weights and specifications are estimated (assessed in mount).
